Team History

1994 - A team called Smack Dab's began practicing and racing in tournaments. The team colors were Mustard Yellow and Black.

July 1995 - As this team grew, there was a split in racing philosophy which resulted in a split in the team. A new team split off and away from Smack Dab's and called themselves Flashback.

1996 - The Smack Dab Team did not race

1997 - The Smack Dab Team started racing again with the core philosophy that any dog that can safely and successfully play flyball regardless of speed, size or creed can race on the team in tournaments. The team colors were Purple and Yellow.

2001 - Because of scheduling difficulties, the Smack Dab team needed a new place to practice. It was at this time that the active members of the Smack Dab racing team started practicing in a training facility in Burr Ridge. The team also changed their name to Canine Athletics. (Note: This was not actually a split in the team, the entire active team became Canine Athletics.)

02/10/2001 - The first time the team raced with the new name Canine Athletics sporting the colors of washed-purple and washed-green.

mid-2001 - The Training Facility in Burr Ridge closes. The team practices sporadically, mostly in a member's back yard and at tournaments.

January 2002 - Pawsitive Performance Dog Training opened, and the team has been racing there ever since!
